Frequently Asked Question :
Civic Participation : What Kind Of Possible Civic Movement Could Be Started Along These Lines
Every American applying for concealed weapons permits on the same time. Everyone capable of buying a fire arm do so on the same day. Well maybe this is not a movement but a statement, anyway please give me your ideas. lol , so funny. I had no intention of people critiquing my thoughts, or talking about gun rights. I don't really care about either. I want peoples ideas for civil movements. A way to gain power for the people. Our government is to powerful and corrupt. Buying and applying for guns would simple startle the government while also practicing our constitutional rights. Again I had no intention of discussing gun rights, and safety persuaders. rather than critse, please tell me how you would unite the nation against the government. Would you protest, what would you do. If events like 9/11 are the only thing that can unite us then we are doomed. Even then we are only united to stand behind the government. ~~~ Matt H ~~~

I am currently completing an assignment on the jury system, particularly in Queensland. Civic Participation : What Will The Labour Government Bring To The Table For All Australians
Will they manage the economy correctly? Will the trade unions have to much influence in federal and state parliament? Will we see a repeat of the Keating/Hawke wasting our economy, and destroying business? Civic Participation : Should Civic Bodies Give Help To Couples To Split The Home For Mum And Dad But Still 1 Roof For Kids Sake
Society in Australia has changed dramatically, with families splitting up all over the place. Sharing the commitments for the kids on 50/50 basis looks allright, but is not. What is "home" for the kids? Also their is a housing crisis in Australia. No wonder, now-a-days, two houses are needed for families with divorced parents in stead of one. In the past mam and dad lived separated but all were still under one roof. ~~~ Magpie ~~~
Civic Participation : Wud U Accept A Refugee Who Is A Citizen Of Your Countycountry If The Next Disaster Happens Near Your Home
If the next major tragedy or calamity to scar the Earth occurred close to your home, but you and your home were unaffected, would you allow victims of the event to inhabit your home with you till they got back on their feet? If no, are there any circumstances you would allow such cohabitation? Also if no, would you ask to cohabit another person's home if roles were reversed? Also if no, if you would you refuse to accept a citizen of your own country, but allow a citizen of a different country? Which countries would you accept people from? If yes, under what conditions? Would you draw up a list of rules, laws, or requirements that the visitors would have to live by? Would you make them pay money to live with you? If they didn't follow your rules, would you kick them out on the street? ~~~ Bawn Nyntyn Aytetu ~~~

Civic Participation : Can We Trust Electronic Voting Machines Without An Audit Trail To Be Free From Interference Or Hacking
We know the companies that produce the electronic voting machines that don't have audit trails are owned by Republican Party supporters so can we trust the results to be accurate? Of course the same question would apply if the owners were Democrats. The machines should print out a card with the vote that was cast printed on it so that the voter can check it is correct and then that card would be dropped in a voting box on the way out. After the election 10% of the polling stations boxes would be counted to see that they tally with the electronic vote. The polling stations to be checked would be selected at random after polling closed to make sure the checking was random. ~~~ neil r ~~~
Civic Participation : Should The NSW Government Be Ashamed Of The Way It Handled The APEC Demonstrations
I was in Sydney over the weekend. The Police reaction was over the top. Taking an injunction out against a demonstration days before it was to take place was designed to minimalise the protestors time to reply or appeal against the decision. I feel this sets a dangerous precident and we should be wary of government and police moves to limit our freedom of speach and assembly. ~~~ sydrooboy ~~~
Civic Participation : Mr Prime Minister What Major National Projects Have You Undertaken Dams Or Desaination Plants Any Thing Else
In the time your government has been in power we have lost most of the things owned by the government/people, Aust. post, Telecom, Qantas, Ansett as well as other Iconic businesses. What have you in your time put back in bricks and mortar which will benifit future generations after you are realise that many of the sales were started by the previous government but Liberal has not stopped any that were begun and has allowed others to be started. Why are the billions from Telecom going overseas now not back into the Au. govt coffers. The same could be said for Aust. Post yes it would have cost the govt. money to have held on to these entities but would have gained much more in the long run. I fail to see any long term planning for aleviation of many of the ills which are making Australia a less desirable place to live. I am 63 yrs old work in China because i cannot do so at home and love Australia very much. I also fear dying in foreign land but can't afford to come home. Bev ~~~ Bev P ~~~

Civic Participation : Why Do We Use Taxpayers Money To Fund Bilinguals For Those Who Refuse To Learn English
I have worked with numerous immigrants, those who just come to the US and need a little help getting started and then there are those who are in the US for years who refuse to learn ENGLISH..why should we continue to pay out of our pockets for their chosen denial of knowing what is going on around them?..It isn't a country of justice anymore..it is a country of who yells the loudest...my mother, a 49 yr old woman died who had a heart condition could not get assistance for heart surgery, a widow of 13 years, yet we can promote and continue to pay for immigrants who are not citizens or taxpayers and give them free care...day after day in the ER..who refuse to learn English..and we are now supposed to give them the right to vote?...for what purpose...they don't pay for anything....they pay nothing for health care...and are allowed to make decisions in our US Government?...don't you think we should be able to vote in their country's too?...and get rid of the bilingual mandatory crap? ~~~ flyingnurse ~~~
