I am 39, but seeing more and more copy cat juniors. Haven't the kids now days have creativity? Do they have to use, for instance 60's hippies, 70's punk, 80's nero romantic, mods etc. Don't they have an identity or do they have to ours and and our mothers and fathers? I would like to know. Also I would like to say don't re-invent but create. Sociology : What Is The Difference Between A Theory And A Hypothesis
A community with high violence believes that both the offenders and victims of crime in their area are not from the area and are attending the community to buy and sell drugs. Police believe if they barricade the area and reduce accessability that crime will reduce. Crime reports support that offenders and victims come to the neighbourhood for drugs. The barricades are erected and the crime drops. Of this information what are hypothesis and what are theories? ~~~ jumbojett4 ~~~
I live in a town where there is only one public high school. The issues they face involve complex indigenous issues and a large number of the children are high needs, high maintenance kids from dysfunctional families. However there are also a variety of different needs - gifted children whose potentials are not maximised due to lack of resources for them as they are mostly spent on taking care of the other high maintenance children. Can anything be done to address such a diverse mix of children? ~~~ Narde ~~~
Sociology : What Is Causing The Demise Of Personal Integrity In Western Civilisation
Everywhere around us people allow self-interest to outweigh ethical behaviour. People lie - they lie to get jobs, they lie to get help, they lie to steal social wlefare, they lie to seduce other people, they lie on their tax returns, they lie to their parents, spouses and their children, they lie about incomplete homework (and often times parents support this), they lie about being late for work. All of these lies revolve around self-interest and selfishness, not to mention a total lack of personal responsibility. No answers involving religion will be considered, because some of the worst liars actually claim to believe in God. The reasons behind this have to be something within Western Civilisation that cause so many people to live such false lives. Thank you to vinny_the_hack for some very good grass roots examples. While no-one is disputing that there have always been unethical people throughout history, they were in the minority - my contention is that now it is becoming the norm. Are we ready to believe that it is human nature to be intrinsically evil? ~~~ Gillian ~~~
