Best Answer To Adoption Question
Sure...as long as his "mother" (his adopted mom) relinquishes her rights (as well as anyone who signed the adoption papers). Contact a lawyer to see what all you need to do. One thing to remember though....if his biological mother or father is anywhere in the picture they can block your adoption just like they could have blocked the first one (and 2 years is a long time to clean up an act). So you would want to make sure that EVERYONE in the picture is ok with you going forward with this. ps. Why didn't your mom simply apply for guardianship? That would have been temporary, and not caused such a legal problem? Oh well...hind sight is always 20/20. Good luck.

Answer 1Yes you can, assuming the "mother" is willing to relinguish custody. Make sure you get a lawyer involved, so everything is official.
Answer 2i would suggest consulting an attorney who specializes in that area.
Answer 3if you file for custody for the child the eventually you'll be able to adopt the child. since you've already been raising him since he's been 5 wks the judge should have no problem with you gaining custody unless someone opposes you gaining custody.
Answer 4Yes you can, You would have to get a homestudy done and if you are a relative and he has been with you for so long the process is usually fast and cheap. You could either contact a social service office and they could help with a special; needs home study if he is older now or you could contact your clerk of courts for asttornies who could help you with the paper work. Either way though a home study will be needed. I hope this has helped a little!
Answer 5You can if your mother agrees to the adoption.
