You will struggle to find an airline that trains their own pilots from scratch now adays, so If you live in the UK GO TO THE RAF ! Then after you serve for them, apply for BA, they Will LOVE you and recruit you without a doubt! Of course yo can TRY to become an EasyJet Cadet, but the world and his dog will want to apply for that! REQUIREMENTS FOR RAF... My son soloed at sixteen and pursued his field with a bachelor of science in aviation maintenance and management was accepted in the ROTC of United States Air Force and there he became number one in training and also became a Top Gun Pilot in Dessert Storm and is now with a top airline. To follow your dream do pursue the field every way you can if you are determined you are really born to fly. Be the best can when getting into aviation as this such a complex field and things are getting tough up there in our beautiful blue sky.

Many colleges offer professional pilot programs, but bear in mind that a couple of years and $25k worth of training will qualify you to tow advertising banners for minimum wage. Flying for the majors is what happens after 10-15 years of spending every penny you have on training but the military will cover that for you and provide you with an income.
Answer 3To become an airline pilot you will obviously have to start at the bottom. You will need a 4 year degree generally to become an airline pilot. Some schools are Emery Riddle or University of North Dakota. Emery Riddle is very expensive and you pay for the name. If I was going to be an airplane pilot I would choose UND, but I fly helicopter so ita€™s a little different. While obtaining your 4 year you will have to also fly. First getting your private license, then generally you will get your instrument, commercial, and then Certified flight instructor. After that you will have to teach to build experience (hours) once you have experience you can work your way up the ladder. Might not be able to do airline pilot right away, but you will get there eventually.

Answer 5Since you live in New York City I assume you are asking for the requirements in the United States. First of all you must understand that some of the answers you get will be from all the 14 year old kids whose total knowledge of aircraft is what they learn by playing "Flight Simulator". They will tell you you only need a GED, and to go to a pilot training school. That's total BS.(they will be the ones that give my answer "thumbs down" , so you can count how many of them there are.). If you truly want to become an airline pilot know that almost every one comes from the military. What you need to do is stay in school, and get good grades. Go to college and get at least a Bachelor's Degree. Then join the Air Force, and request Flight Training. (pilots have the rank of Officer, and that requires a college degree). In the Air Force you will receive multi-million dollar training on multi-million dollar equipment, and get flying experience that you can never equal by going to some pilot training school (even if you could afford one) Any one who tells you anything else is full of s**t! PS: If you mess around with drugs you can totally forget about ever becoming a professional pilot.
