Amusement Parks : Can A Family Have Fun At Six Flags Great America On July 4 Without Buying A Flash Pass
Is it possible to have fun at six Flags Great America without buying a flashpass? Are the areas designated for younger children appropriate for 8-year-olds? Or are they for really, really little kids? Does anyone know if there are any promotions or special discounts AFTER July 4? We have a lot of discount coke cans, but those discounts are not good after July 4. On the other hand, I'd rather go during the week when the crowds aren't bad. ~~~ RebeccaGirl2007 ~~~

Your first question the answer is yes, You can still have fun, but the lines might be extremely long during the day. So i would recommend going before the parks opens. You can get in the park before opening and wait to ride the rides a little bit pass the way you can ride the raging bull, giant drop, and viper in the first 15 mins. It is possible to have fun without a fast pass, but during the middle of the day 1-4pm you will wish you got one. If you plan ahead though and come early theres no need for a flash pass. The last hour of park operation is as imporant as the first. You should try and knock out Superman and Vertical Velocity at this time. The little kids area will most likely seem too "kiddie" for your 8 year old. The are more geared toward kids 3-5. My son is 3 years old and he loves it, but my 7 year old sister would rather ride the rollercoasters. If your child is above 48" inches they can ride almost every ride in the park except raging bull, vertical velocity, batman, superman, iron wolf, and revolution. Discounts running after the 4th Big Six Pass $ a€” THE PRICE OF A ONE-DAY ADMISSION Now you can visit Six Flags Great America six times for just $ a€” the price of a one-day admission! Answer 1well if you go on July 4 you have to buy a flash pass, no doubt about it. As for the eight year old... If he likes roller coasters then he has to be a pretty tall eight year old but i mean six flags great America has like bugs bunny areas which could be good but it has wiggles world which most likely he wont like ( i mean he could like wiggles world but at eight i didnt like wiggles world ) . they have camp cartoon but I'm not sure if he will like that or not. As for promotions six flags is doing a deal every one pays kids price all summer long. Not to ruin your forth of July but i would suggest going to great America during the week (even though it will still be crowded) Either way you will have fun! just be relaxed =]

Answer 3well it would be more fun with a flash pass because you get to go on more rides but it will not hurt anyone if you do not have a pass. yes they do have a area for kids they have mini roller coasters and pretty fun kid rides and no they are not just for really little kids. I really think they do not have promotions after July 4th. Hope that helped
Answer 4yes. go to the front gate, joke around a bit, then leave without buying a single ticket. otherwise ...no. we went to hurricane harbor this weekend. they really packed 'em in and it was sro for sure! then to compound the misery the waterslide attendants would wait like 30 seconds after the last rider had cleared the water before allowing the next one to go. total rip off!
