I don't think matching letter names sound "too ; Rhyming names sound silly and contrived, but matching first letters don't bother me. You should name your kids names that you like. Some people have said it can be confusing when mail arrives at your house addressed to "K. Smith" if all your children's names start with a K. This doesn't seem like it would be a big deal to me because I don't often get mail with just an initial on it, but maybe I don't notice it as I don't share the same initials with anyone in my house. I've heard that K/C names are pretty popular right now (just like J names were popular in the '80's), so it's not surprising that you are drawn to them. The only problem I see with doing this is that, if you have a third child, you might feel locked into using another K/C name. My favorite way of naming siblings, though, is to choose names with similar ending sounds or similar origins so they match more subtly. Examples: Emily and Melody (me and my sis; three-syllable -y names) Clara, Charlotte, and Frederick (all Victorian names) Andreas, Sebastian, and Greta (all German) Declan, Eilish, and Moira (all Irish-inspired choices) Bonnie, Isla, and Graham (all Scottish-inspired) Lucy, Daisy, and Kolby (two-syllable -y names) As far as other names to go with Kolby? Hmmm... you probably don't want to name your children after cheeses. :) Kolby/Colby comes from an Old English place name meaning "coal ; Perhaps your children could have other Old English or Welsh place names. Examples: Clifton, Bradford, Ashley, Ainsley, Peyton, Camden, Tilden, Sydney, Wesley, Claydon, Brynna, and Harlow. Anyway, just an idea. You should ultimately choose names YOU like, and if you like all K/C names, then I think those are just fine. Good luck!

Answer 2all of mine and my sisters kids names start with an A there is nothing wrong with making their names sound matchy
Answer 3As in John and James? I don't think there's anything wrong with that.
Answer 4My 2 sons' names start with the same sound and I keep calling them by the wrong name, and sometiimes have to think carefully before I call out a name, quite tiring. I though I should have got names which sound different but can still start with the same letter. Maybe you should think of that too. (Ian and Eemin)
Answer 5i think when you choose a name for your child, it should be a name which makes you smile, if it doesn't make you smile then don't go with it. If your worried about what other people think then they'll just get used to it, no one liked my sons name when he was born, but now he really suits it. i am pregnant again and i'm not sharing my baby names with anyone til my baby is born. it's your baby and its your choice, but i say go with what you want.
Answer 6HI, i dunno what it is about same letter names, if its just 2 children its fine, but it can be odd if its different letters like jamie and amy because of the similarity in sound. i say go with which ever name you choose its your child after all and i htink those are great names
Answer 7Whatever makes you happy they are your kids. A lot of people dislike my sons name but my boyfriend and I LOVE it. My dads name was Rory, and his brothers were Randy,Rick, and Rod.
Answer 8do what you like my sister has two girls kymberley and karryghan and if she was gonna hvae anotehr child itll start with a K and with mine she is bobbi so if iw as to have another girl itll be either Baileigh or another b name but that is jsut what im like so do what you want
Answer 9Children are individuals, so give them their own name, not one that matches or rhymes with their sibling's.
Answer 10i think its just fine!
Answer 11I think its okay as long as they don't rythm because I think its a bit weird but if there different I agree.
Answer 12no harm in naming your child with the same initial as its sibling but have a different sounding name so you dont get too mixed up write down all your names and see what rhymes with them as if you were sending a card and see what rolls off the tongue
Answer 13i want to call my girls isla and indiana so i think it's fine as long as they dont rhyme !
Answer 14Well No I Wouldnt...because When The Babys Young You Might Confuse It By Saying The Same Letter Quite alot But Then Again Its Your Baby So Name It What You Want x Hope Ive Helped x
Answer 15My name is Cassidy, and my siblings are Cary and Chandler. It can be hard for you when you're trying to yell something at them (my mother became jumbled through the years and sometimes just yelled "casscachan!"), but I think it's charming. It's also good luck in some cultures.
Answer 16yeah i think you might regret it in the future, but its not really my call you can name your kids whatever you want to.
Answer 17i think that u should make them different because if they were matching then they would have the same enitials and if both of their enitials were together you wouldnt know which is which but its totally up to you :]
Answer 18I think once you have your first baby you are usually in a 'groove' as to what sounding names you like. Its fine to have two 'c'/'k' sounding names but I wouldn't do Kolby and Kailey as that is too much because of the 'k' and 'y' sounds. Kolby and Cameron, Kolby and Christopher, Kolby and Keira, Kolby and Candice etc.... would be okay though. My kids are Eliza Jasmine and Isaac Matthew and that is because I am drawn to the 'z/s' sounds in names. (they are also 5 letters long and both start with vowels, lol, but that was coincidence!) Everybody can probably pin point some type of commonality with their kids names. Just don't go making them too matchy/matchy and embarrasing for them. Best of luck coming up with the perfect name for your baby! I'm still thinking of one for this 3rd baby! At the moments its down to Ethan James or Aidan James (i really want Zavier James - again the 'z' thing!! - but hubby hates it!!)
Answer 19My 3 sons all have names that start with J...- Jarryd, Jed Jai (pronounced Jye). This wasn't intentional though. We just happened to like these names. For son #3, I actually liked an 'S' name (but couldn't get DH to agree), and if he had been a she, we had a name that started with M picked out. As it is, most people think that we chose all J names on purpose...but regardless, most of the comments that we get are favourable. I think you just need to go with whatever names you like...no matter what letter it is that they start with.
Answer 20It's your choice, it would be cute if they all started with K or C. But that's my opinion. If you like the names, then I'm sure everyone else will.
Answer 21I believe each child is unique.. maybe it's nice if you have boy and girl twins to give them matchy names.. Julian and Julia.. but I am for individual names for children.. but if you find a lot of nice names with the letter C or K then why not? Kathryn, Catherine.. Karissa, Carissa Camilla, Cleo, Kylie, Charlotte Christopher, Christian, anything you want.. just I won't suggest not to match any name to rhyme with Kolby ...that is your son.. it's his identity.. you don't want another child with a name that rhymes to walk in his shadow good luck..
Answer 22I think it's fine, mine are Colby (lol), Christine, Chris, and Carry...i like it...=-)
Answer 23I love the whole idea. My name is Kayla and my sister and brother are Kiera and Kain. I have a 3 year old and im pregnant now and plan on doing it with my children.
Answer 24I think that the names Kolby and Kailey are really cute together....
Answer 25too matchy and annoying
Answer 26we all start with S was confusing at school assemblies and mum used to often yell out the wrong name..LOL Personally i think all children should be named with a meaning whether it be the name meaning or after a loved family member.. not to make it rythme with other kids names.. some ideas for ya anyways.. Jarla Shea Kye Chloe Amanda Evalina Brody Bowdie
Answer 27It's fine as long as they are not too similar. My husband is Nicholas (Nick) and his sister is Nicole. I think it's weird. I went to school with 3 sisters that all had "L" names, Lisa, Lori, and Leslie. All I can say is if you are going to name the first and second with matching letter names, make sure you stick with it for any additional children.

Answer 29it is actually a very good idea. you see, when other people are talking about your kids, theyll say all the names rather then just us "the ______ kids" or "_____'s kids". this will make people picture them separately, yet all at once. it will give them each their own identity. also, its cute and not strange sounding. go for it!
Answer 30I think it's fine, if thats what you want. I've watched this show, where the parents have 17 kids and all of there names start with a J. Now, that gets very confusing. But, if you only plan on having a few kids, do it. Why not?
Answer 31I have 2 sons ---named them Jason and Jeffrey..I like the matching first letters!
