im looking for a new camera and before asking any questions about other features, what is a good amount of megapixels. what i mean is like what amount is good but when you go higher you cant really notice the difference? ~~~ jakegrover ~~~

I have a 10,2 Nikon SLR camera and an old 4,0 Canon. When just taking regular pictures I can use both and get very good pictures. But when you want bigger pictures you need more MP. I have enlarged many pictures taken with my 4,0 MP camera, and they're very good actually! And that camera is about 5 years old. If I was you I would go with 7-8 MP. The camera will be afordable plus you should be able to get very nice pictures, also if you want to enlarge some of them.
