Best Answer To Cats Question
Your cat may have allergies of the skin. Go to the vet, she will probably give him a benedryl cream or spray with antibiotic for the sores. If cost is an issue, you could try ointment used for diaper rash-- just be sure you keep an eye on the cat so he doesn't lick it off too much--yeah, the cone for the head might work, but most cats will freak out trying to get out of it. Poor thing. For safe soothing relief, brew some strong camamile tea dab it on his sores frequently. He might enjoy peppermint tea as well.--It's not the cure, but it is some relief .

Answer 4There is no way to stop a cat from licking himself. It's natural. But in your cat's case, it's either that he doesn't feel sanitary or that he's bored. To reduce him from groom him more often and make sure that there are no loose hairs that you can just rub out with your hand. Try a new shampoo and try to keep him occupied by buying new toys. Try to get rid of this problem as soon as you can, because your cat could give himself an infection by breaking the skin (because his tongue is like sandpaper) and getting the bacteria into his bloodstream. Since he has FIV, the bacteria will cause worse damage than usual in regular cats and he could go unconscious. I'm really concerned about your cat. I love cats. If this doesn't work, try going to the vet. . IF your concerned about hairballs too, try using some pet grass or some medicine for his digestive tract. I hope this helps.
