Don't worry that's not how the story really goes. The anime just did that so they could start a filler arc so the manga could catch up on its chapters and get further along. In the manga the final battle is just about to begin. I recommend checking out the manga its getting really good. The last couple chapters have been about what happened 100 years ago with Urahara and the Vizards. So awesome. Hopefully the anime will get back on track soon enough. I'm curious to see how they'll get off such an inaccurate path and continue with the manga.
