I have recorded a TV show on a samsung DVD recorder and can view it on the same DVD recorder. But when I try and view it on my PC, the PC states that there is no data on the DVD. ~~~ nosh! ~~~

Yes, if your PC is computable with the DVD you recorded on (DVD R+ or -). If your PC doesn't support the format of the disk, then no. Have you finalized the disk on your DVD player? If you don't, you can't view the DVD even on another DVD player. You can watch it through your DVD player if you get the cords that hook up from the out on the DVD and input to your video card on your PC. Just select play and it will show on your PC just like it does on your TV. Your video card has to have the correct input and you can buy one that has a cable in/out for your PC if you don't already have one, then just connect the cable out from your DVD player to the video card and you're done! You can also record it to a file if you have the hard drive space.

Answer 2you need to finalize the disc... all DVD-Rs will be able to be read from the drive that they were recorded on with out finalization.. but if you want to be able to use the disc on any dvd player you need to first finalize the disc... the cable between my samsung dvd recorder and tv is broken right now.. i need to replace the cable, so i cant go over this exactly for you.. but you need to put the disc into the samsung DVD recorder.. press the menu button, and there will be a list.. you need to go down the menu and find the option that tells you to finalize disc.. it will ask you if you are sure.. as long as you dont want to add anything else to the disc click yes...
