Aha! THERE's your proof of ghosts!! First, test where the problem is coming from. Remove the batteries from your remote and see if that happens again. If its your remote, try changing the batteries or replace it. If it's not, then its probably from your TV. OR If you live with more people, someone might have a universal remote control (one that can control most TV's). They might just be playing a trick on you. ;) Hope you can fix it! :)

Someone must have programmed it somehow. Go to set up and see what's programmed and erase it. If none of this applies, call the manufacturer and they might be able to help you.

Have your neighbours got the same model? If so you may be picking up their remote control signals.

try taking out the batteries and put them back in. hope this works! then umplug the tv for a few seconds and yeah. good luck!

Maybe your remote buttons are sticky or worn out.

Most common problem i have is i have another remote sitting on something and it changes the channel automatically. Don't know how your boob tube's set up though so no help there.
