yeah, republicans are about lowering taxes. i don't understand it because they also claim to be the party who loves GOD and the bible clearly states that we must pay taxes. you would think after these last two elections while we heard so much about their so called, "strong faith in GOD" they would have raised taxes through the roof. democrats raise taxes in order to fund different programs like health care, education, as well as other programs that are used by those less fortunate.

Answer 1Yes, I am independent.
Answer 2No, Reps want to cut taxes on the rich. Dems want to cut taxes for the middle class. Examples: Reagan's tax cuts averaged about $27 dollars for me. But he doubled the payroll tax so most people actually paid more. Only the rich paid less. Bush's tax cuts were spread as follows (includes income, capital gains and and estate taxes) Poorest 20% got $66 back (% of their tax burden) Next poorest 20% got $375 (%) Middle 20% got $600 (10%) Upper 20% got $1026 (18%) Richest 5% got $53,123 (29%) The rich get better deals under Reps. This shifts the tax burden to the middle class. Dems want tax cuts to be more targetted to average people. Also only a Dem has balanced a budget in the last 39 years (Clinton 3 times)
Answer 3Republican Lower Taxes and Increase Spending. Democrats Raise Taxes and Increases Spending. Libertarians (Third Party) Lower Taxes and Decrease Spending. Which One Works?
Answer 4I cannot give you specifics, but history pretty much supports this. You might want to do a bit of research.
Answer 5the "typical" voter - unfortunately the GOP have been acting like the Democrats! Raising taxes kills an economy - this has been proven numerous times. Hillary Obama both have promised to raise taxes. This is one of the many reasons I don't support the Democrats!
Answer 6Yes and yes but that is really the American people to be blame because it is their senators and representatives who are spending money like it was water.
Answer 7I think repubs THINK they are voting for lower taxes. In all actuality this last administration has been so corrupt i don't believe our taxes are being spent correctly at all. Stopping stupid wars and corruption will lower taxes.
Answer 8Republicans are for larger corporations and richer they help them pay lower taxes and pass the buck to lower income people, Democrats are for lower income people they believe in lowering taxes for the poor and trying to have health care for all.
Answer 9Have you seen George W or George 41 lowering taxes? Hint: the tax "rebates" or "refunds" or whatever you call them are just *advances* off next year's taxes. Except for the freebie handout to those who wouldn't have paid taxes anyway . . . . Your statement Republicans and Democrats is a summary of what they *used* to stand for - Republicans limited government in order to limit taxes; Democrats were willing to tax in order to fund government programs. These days, both parties are willing to spend, spend, spend - they only disagree over what to spend ON. Democrats want to provide healthcare, housing, food, and education. Republicans want to fund big business, mostly.
Answer 10From what i understand republicans support an economic system geared towards giving the wealthy more wealth and keeping it away from the poor. so probably there would be more taxes by democrats but most of the taxes would be taken from higher tax brackets. That's what the US needs to help cure some of the poverty and thus the violence and crime, and all that for the very low price of taking from those that have way too much.
Answer 11Basically yes that's true, but both are for huge government spending WAY more than they can afford- Ron Paul has the most realistic plans for the economy, and is for abolishing federal income tax and the like- you know you pay over FIFTY different kinds of tax, and it takes almost 45% of your entire years pay- that more than double what peasants paid to corrupt kings during the dark ages. It's the equivalent of working January through till May each year SOLELY to pay for the government, and the governments foreign debt is at about $10,000,000,000,000 and GROWING- that's ten TRILLION dollars, which, if you do the maths is about $40,000 for every family. On top of other debts which almost every person has- and the dollar is just getting weaker and weaker.
Answer 12Only it you are a large business owner.... Major corporations have lower taxes after Republican legislation with the hope of more economic growth to offset the lower taxes. What happens however is the deficit tends to grow instead.
Answer 13Democrats don't lower taxes. It's simply not natural.
Answer 14yeah, republicans are about lowering taxes. i don't understand it because they also claim to be the party who loves GOD and the bible clearly states that we must pay taxes. you would think after these last two elections while we heard so much about their so called, "strong faith in GOD" they would have raised taxes through the roof. democrats raise taxes in order to fund different programs like health care, education, as well as other programs that are used by those less fortunate.
Answer 15That has certainly been the trend in the last 30 or so years; tax cuts were by Reagan and GW Bush and social programs are very expensive so for the Dems to enact them, higher taxes are needed.
Answer 16no, republicans are for the rich.. lower the taxes on the rich and screwing over the poor people who work harder to get less democrats are for the poor, lowering the taxes on the people who make less and raising the taxes on the ones who make more an example is Celebrities pay less in taxes right now but make millions a month.. does that make any sense to you?
Answer 17It's true, depending on the candidate. Pretty much, the Republicans has lower taxes, however spending hasn't really change. The Democrats will only be worse with raising taxes and speading a lot. What comes down to is which party will promise to keep taxes down and keep spending under control?
Answer 18Well the Repubs claim to be in favor of low taxes,..but, it's hard to lower taxes when you are paying for 2 wars you started.
Answer 19That's been the pattern for many years, yes.
Answer 20it dosent matter really... you going to get taxes taking out... no matter what or the party. even if there was a lower tax stuff. they have to go threw congress crap. Tipper- Congress apporve of the war also us didn't start the war. is was partly Bill clitons fault. and terrisom/iraq
Answer 21It depends on who it is, not the party they are affiliated with. For example, Ron Paul (R) will get rid of all income tax (and the IRS) by getting rid of the Federal Reserve and giving the power to print money back to the government which will end all of the government debt. Huckabee (R) wants to end the income tax but replace it with a Fair Tax which will tax everyone even the prostitutes. Hillary is on the bank-roll (no pun intended, really) of the Federal Reserve (she attended one of their secret Bilderberg meetings in 1997, and Bill attended in 1991) so she will be for what ever makes the owners more profits even if it is at the expense of the citizens.
Answer 22When Republicans are in office, the rich get richer and poor get poorer. How simple is that. Bush has spent so much money that our deficit is out of sight. My generation will never live to see it paid off. If the Democrats get in office, they may raise taxes. How else are we to pay off the deficit? Clinton was in office in the 90's and our deficit was the lowest that I had ever seen it and our economy was good. Bush has broken us and we are in a recession, he just won't admit. In short, with Bush in office for eight years, it has wrecked our great country. What a shame.
