My fiance and I are planing on a weddingmoon possibly on daydream island. How do I start planning this. I am not sure where to start? Or how to get information and ideas? We are planing on it being in 2009 so people have plenty of time to save. How do we let people know now when we dont have any specific details yet as you dont book untill 12 months before? We decided at first on only inviting imediate family but things are starting to snowball .the few friends we mentioned the idea to said they would want to come, but if they are invited we will have to invite all our friends and Family? some (non imediate) family members can cause problems when thay are together and drink, we dont want our whole wedding/ honeymoon ruined but we cant just leave out the trouble makers or upset people. give save the date cards with information about where and when you are planning to have your event... there are troublemakers in every family/clan. One way to keep them safe and under control is to be sure that the alcohol is watered down and limited in scope (three types of coctails, beer and wine) and that the bar changes to soft drinks and non-alcoholic beer halfway into the night -- make sure there are great eats to munch on and good music to dance to. Another thing is to make sure that there is safe transportation back to the hotel at the end of the night... tell everyone in advance that this transportation is arranged for.

Answer 1Funnily enough, I am doing the exact same thing and am having similar issues with who to invite..! First things to do are choose a rough date (avoid Feb and March - it's the wet season!), and look at the wedding pack for the resort there - they can arrange the whole thing for you, which could help... or, if you're not sure about the costs etc, go to .au and register - they have a free downloadable wedding planner which I have found to be fantastic and tells you when to do everything! With regards to the family/friends thing - the only way we started to make decisions was to make a list and say - if we invited them, would we regret it more than not inviting them? Don't forget, it's YOUR day, not theirs, and if you can't be selfish at your wedding, when can you be? A dream wedding should stay that way, and not become a nightmare... be brave and only invite the people you really want there - tell everyone else who knows that you would really prefer to keep it very intimate and low key.
