Weddings : How Can My Fiance And I Get Married Without A Ceremony But Still Be Special And Memorable
I want to get married but don't want a ceremony. I want something a bit more special and memorable than just going to the court house. I have two young children who i want involved but really no one else. We would have a reception/party at a later date but want the vows to be by ourselves. I live in Queensland and am willing to drive/fly a few hours for a nice location for something special!! ~~~ whiter81 ~~~

You don't have to have the normal ceremony at the courhouse. Go on line and type in Ordained Officiant in your area the links below might help. You don't have to pay for the information on either link, the officiate will have to pay. You can read reviews about their services on the decidio link. You can find an officiate who should do what you are wanting, some will require a small amount of religion and some will not. They will know what the requirements are by law to officially join you as Husband and Wife. In my state all you have to have is the acknowledgement that you are there to be married to the other person, I Do. You do not have to have the vows, or the rings or a long ceremony. A marriage license is a contract and the law states what must be done to legalize the contract. Just browse and read the pages and reviews below. I officiate ceremonies like this all the time. Some areas you will have to have two witness's some areas you won't, check with your local courthouse on the guidelines. Contact an officiate, purchase the marriage license and find a perfect location and have your private ceremony. As an officiate I love weddings, but the ones that I enjoy a little bit more are the ones that has the Bride and Groom and sometimes their children and a quite spot at a park, or in their home. I hope this helps. If you can't find an officiate email me and I will try to help find one in your area. Congratulations Best Wishes

Answer 1you could get a best man and maid of honor as witnesses no one else and just go to a beach front or park someone special and do that..I saw someone doing that and it was very intimate and special..you can get the judge to do it outdoors on an off court date
Answer 2You can do anything you want WITHOUT A MARRIAGE LICENSE OR AN OFFICIANT. But if you want A LEGAL WEDDING CEREMONY, you will have to obtain a MARRIAGE LICENSE, and you will have to find someone to conduct your ceremony that has the legal authority to do so. If you have two children then A LEGAL WEDDING CEREMONY should be very important to you and your future Husband. Don't put your future, and the future of your two children in jeopardy by NOT having a legal ceremony. Even if that means, just having an officiant and two witnesses in your backyard on a summer afternoon where you can say or do anything you want. If you don't want to go to a Court House then find a nondenominational minister (just do a search on the internet). Many nondenominational or neutral ministers give the Bride and Groom the opportunity to customize or personalize their wedding ceremony (your vows, your thoughts, your poems). Answer 3You have to have a ceremony - that's the part where you say your vows! If you mean you don't want the whole production with the cake and all the planning and flowers and expense, you could have a guerilla wedding... just pick out a spot you think is great, go there, and get married.
Answer 4have a casual backyard barbq with just close friends and family.
