The very first thing I suggest is that you and your future spouse sit down together and dream up your ideal wedding. Start by listing adjectives that will describe the experience, list adjectives that you hope guests will walk away thinking, and list adjectives to describe the colors / textures / environment of the wedding in your mind. Do this separately at first, then come together with your lists and discuss the similarities and differences. Also discuss what parts of the wedding are most important to you: where would you place music, food, service, location, guest comfort, drink, etc., on a scale of 1-10. Compare answers and discuss. This will help you narrow your search and help you decide what is most important at your wedding. If flowers aren't as important as the location, then look for a location that you won't have to decorate so much. If food and drink are more important than music, then you know you can save money by not hiring a full band. I don't think it's necessary to hire a wedding planner, my wife and I planned our wedding without one - though we did have someone help manage the action on the day of the wedding. Answer 1you can have it out doors with just a few family members and close friends and if you want alcohol a keg will do if they wish to drink some thin else they can bring it and you can go to your local delli and have them shave some ham and you can go to your laocal discount store and buy chips and buns and cheeses crackers as for flowers you can go to wal-mart or a store like it and get the things you will need to make your own buqae you can barrow lawn chairs or have them bring their own kind of make it like a BBQ or buy some fish and have a good old fashioned fish fry and people can bring there favorite music and if some one gets to tipsy to drive home they can pitch a tent for the way you can set the time of day you would like to exchange your vows and you can have a friend go online to become a licensed minister to marrie the two of you you can also rent camera equiptment and have some one take pictures for you or find some one who can take good pics with there own camera and supplie them with film or disk or hopefully they have a digitol camera.

Answer 4I always smile when I hear a bride or groom say they just want a small wedding. As a florist, wedding planner I can suggest to you how to go about having a small wedding. First stick to your plans of having a small wedding. Rule of thumb 1st. For every person you invite including in the wedding party double the head count. If you invite 12 then expect 24. 2. For color use lavender its the most inexpensive flower but shows beautifully in photos. 3rd Instead of hiring a photogpher, buy disposable cameras and give them to each of your guest. 4th Ask your grandmothers , mothers, aunts ect to arrange your table. Youll be surprised how elegant these women can do this. 5th Make your own invitations and take them personally to each person . 6th If you have a dinner the night before dont have it at the same place you will be getting married the next day. 7th if any of your family will be ask to serve then ask the younger ladies. 8th Dress should be as formal as the brides dress is. If her dress is very formal then the wedding party should be dress the same. (If the dress is bought in the winter months then a dress could be bought for under $. Answer 5I agree with the others. Get as much help from family members as you can!! For us, it kept the price and the stress fairly low. My sister-in-law(matron of honor) did up all my flowers and directed the decorating which our brothers uncles did. An aunt made my wedding cake as our gift. Another aunt took the pictures for free, all I had to do was pay for the developing. Buy as much decorations as you can at the dollar store(napkins and such) As for the food, again family really helped. All our Aunts moms made everything up the night before. We had a wine cheese to begin(we made homemade wine) and later on we had a cold luncheon. We had sandwich trays, cheese trays, pickle trays, coldcuts, crackers, salads, and a few desert trays. Most of all everyone had fun. It wasn't a super elegant party but everyone said they had a blast! Keep it small if you can, but stick to your decision because it can snowball into a huge event if you aren't careful!!lol Congrats! and good luck with the planning!
Answer 6You need to start off with a realistic budget first. Then list what you need in order of importance (. the reception hall, photography, flowers etc). You really do not need a wedding planner. If you are an organized person who can balance a checkbook and pay bills on time, then you can do it yourself. The only time I would say you need a wedding planner is if it's a destination wedding or a really large elaborate one.

Both are people starting out, however the photographer takes beautiful pictures, we are only paying $500 for 8 hours and we get the pictures on a disk. Make sure when chosing a photographer, you get a disk. The person making our cake is starting out and just graduated from baking school and going into business and we got a 5 teir cake for only $. Instead of renting the tablecloths and napkins we bought our own, we saved money buying rather than renting. We rented out the Elk's Lodge, which is very inexpensive.
