Answer 5To Whom it May Concern, This is to inform you that the wedding of Jane and Bob has been cancelled and your services will no longer be needed. Please contact me at: 123-456-7890 with any questions. I do understand that I may have to forfeit the total of my deposit, however, if you would be willing to work with me, I would be very grateful. I will contact you later to discuss. Thank you, Jane Doe. Then follow up with a phone call seeing if they would be willing to work with you depending on how far in advance you have cancelled. Sometimes if they are able to rebook, they will refund some (or even all ) of your deposit. But make sure you get any verbal agreement in writing, or that you confirm in writing and they agree to it, so that there are no questions. And sorry about your cancelled wedding - or is this a good thing?

Answer 7Anne gave you great advice. I own two restaurants and have had people cancel weddings for many different reasons. I have always found a way to work with the person to get as much of their deposit back to them as possible. As long as I didn't have to rent any additional equipment or order unusually espensive seafood or wines that can't be returned, then I always return deposits. This usually makes the person happy and often I am returned the favor when the lucky girl/guy finds the right mate and returns to my establishment for that wedding! Call your caterer, photographer, etc. They will help you. Calling and talking it out will be much more effective than a note, and may get you your money back! I wish you every happiness in the future!
Answer 8Call and apologize for the inconvenience and just say the event has been canceled and you will keep them in mind for your next event. Also that you will refer them to your friends and family. Follow up with a letter saying the same thing.
