Answer 6

well, 26 is not 56, u re still young, i think u should complete education and faster. nobody wants to take an old intern. and i tell u what - even if u go to uni there is no garantee u will have a good payed job or even any job. my hubby and his 2 brothers had the same education , they all graduated university, only he made a successful career, one brother is unemployed and another is working even remotely not close to the education he wasted time on

Answer 7

Two points.. . 1. Of course it's possible to get a well paid job without a degree - but to be well qualified increases one's chances of getting that job. 2. It is never too late to start. Following a period in the air force, I graduated with a first degree at 33, and a postgrad degree at 38. Both set me on course for a well paid, progressive and satisfying career. (Note. I paid my own way through both periods of study, too.) So don't think you are too old at 26. Heavens, you are still almost a school leaver! Go for it - and good luck!

Answer 8

I'm not in a similar situation, but here's an "oposite" to provide some perspective. When I started Uni this year, I was still 17 (I switched systems and stuff which allowed me to cut years). I was so in awe of all my mature entry classmates (we're talking mid-20s to early 50s) that I was scared out of school and taking a gap year. When I go back next semester, at least I'll be old enough to join them in social drinking. Moral of the story: there is no such thing as being too young or too old to learn.

Answer 9

UMMM...48 years later and can only locate a part time job as a cook in an after school program,,,,,, Yeah, go to college

Answer 10

Absolutely! As long as you are naturally bright, you do not need a degree to get a good job. I left college to travel and spent 10-years on the road so never quite got back to school. However, I have a natural aptitude for computers, grapse concepts quickly, and have a strong work ethic. I do loads of high pay contract work as well as having a F/T good pay position that has Nothing to do with what I studied at school, all hands-on experience. Most of the world's richest people do not have degrees. If you are interested in law of psych though, you will need a degree. BUT 26 is not old, get your GED go to university now.

Answer 11

Of course you can. If you are in Australia - a miner will take home about 1100 a week for driving a dump truck. No senior pass required. Four day shift. Usually it is about being prepared to move or to do something unpopular.
