Fish : How Many Fish Can Go In A 30 Gallon Aquarium
I recently set up a 30gal tank to cycle and now I've been researching fish compatabilty and so on. I was thinking of 2 dwarf gourami, 3 platies, 5 zebra danios and 6 guppies. Is that too many fish? ~~~ pash19 ~~~
Best Answer To Fish Question
no, that's absolutely not too many fish just a couple of recommendations though: get 6 zebra danios, they're schooling fish make sure on the platies and guppies that you follow the rule of 2 females to 1 male, or all males or all females you could actually add some more fish, where i recommend bottomfeeders like: 3-6 cory cats or 1 bristlenose pleco or 5 kuhli loaches Hope that helps Good luck Eve Edit* definately no goldfish in that setup you have tropicals which require temperatures around 78 degrees, whereas the goldfish are coldwater and are in the lower 70's to 60's

Answer 3as many as u can put. depending on the size of fish. ask a vet!
Answer 4There is supposed to be one fish per gallon. so 30 gallons = 30 fish
Answer 530 probly. You have a good amount.
Answer 6No that amount is fine. The dwarfs are going to be your biggest fish so you could probably get some more platys to make a nice school. The rule of thumb is 1 inch for every gallon
Answer 7No its okay your just one fish over the limit but thats okay i see many people do worse to that lmao i work at petsmart!
Answer 8small tropical fish, you can put a lot,but larger fish such as gold fish, only a couple.
Answer 9is not that many, but i would do something other than the platys, something more exotic, nicer, and not as common..and don't forget two algea eaters such as clown plecos or bushynoses which won't outgrown your tank, good luck!!
Answer 10nope just be carefull that the fishes have diff eating eating habbits otherwise they may compete for food and the less active ones will suffer ,..
Answer 11DON'T GET THIRTY FISH!!! Whoever said that is confusing thirty inches with thirty fish. What you have seems fine
Answer 12The rule of thumb is one inch of fish per gallon. So if you have a fish that is 4 inches long, then he needs at least 4 gallons to himself. I think that set up would be fine, but maybe not 6 guppies. I'd suggest doing 4 guppies. You cannot have 30 fish in there unless they are all under 1 inch long. Just make sure you have lots of aquarium decorations and plants. I suggest fabric plants if real plants are out of the question. with that many fish they will want little places to go have time to themselves or whatever. Enjoy your fish : )
