Throughout the 90's Adrian Newey (Williams, McLaren and now Red Bull) and Rory Byrne (Benetton, Ferrari) were regarded as the best designers... Byrne has since retired, although he has left a team at Ferrari who is still clearly indebted to his work and influenced by it.. and Newey is increasingly looking like a spent force compared to the aero departments of the top teams... ones of note currently include: Loic Bigois (BMW, and now Honda) Aldo Costa (Ferrari) Sam Michael and Patrick Head (Williams) Frank Dernie (Toyota)
