In the UK it's 16, and ea very loose law. You don't get any prosecution usually if the girl is consenting. In the USA, it's 18 I think? I wondered if the higher age in the US, does it actually encourage teens to stay virgins for longer or not? My own persoanl experience in the UK was 15. Sorry, I didn't realise about ireland. But it's not usually considered rape under 16, I'm not saying there is never a prosecution. ~~~ *~* Princess *~* ~~~

Answer 8It's not 16 in the UK. The age is 16 in Great Britain. It's still 17 in Northern Ireland. And if the girl consents below either age it is still statutory rape and there's been quite a few cases so you are wrong to assume that nothing happens.
