Serial killers are glorified in our society. Their exploits are shown on tv, in movies and in books. Women who flock to them aren't in tune with reality and they flock to these men like celebrities because that's essentially what these men are. These women get to be the centre of his world, and for that they get a boost to their self image that they would never get in their ordinary lives. They seem to be able to overlook their hideous crimes because these men treat these women quite well. Probably better than they've been treated by anyone else. I wouldn't be surprised if these women even believe that they could be the ones to "change" these violent people; I also wouldn't be surprised if these killers TOLD these women that they had changed because of them. There's a high level of manipulation and control on both sides. Neither party is a healthy person, that much is certain.

Answer 12It's completely mad. I agree with all the answers except for the one by dsds. Dsds, a normal, mentally healthy woman does not like a psycho man, much less love or admire him. In fact we like sensitive men, without the femininity aspect. I disagree with the explanation given by Sheila Isenberg totally. Only crazy mad women would do it for the reasons she gives, not a single sane woman would do this at all. I think the prison authorities should step in and block these mad women from communicating with these psychos altogether, because it only boosts their ego's and gives them the impression that what they have done is admirable. In fact, I would take it a step further and actually make it a law that any woman who gets into such contact with these hardened criminals who have no remorse for any of their deeds, should be fined or jailed themselves for daring and having the nerve to encourage and endorse the actions of these psycho's, who should be put to death immediately, before they spread their genes further into this world, (that is if they get the chance to).

Also women who are drawn to "unavailable" men - you can't get more unavailable than locked up for life or on death row.

Immature girls will grow out of media stereotypes sooner or later when they realise that their parents were right and the media and 'popular opinion' wrong. The hard way of course. Have you noticed the number of movies and sitcoms where the love of a woman turns a monster criminal into the perfect man? Teenage girls take this very seriously. They think it is 'in' to be attracted to bad boy muscles instead of the chocolate boy charm or 'nice guys'.
