A projector is a display that takes the place of the screen portion of your TV. It only needs a video signal since it either doesn't have (or only has very small) speakers. You don't specify, but you can't directly connect cable to a projector, it has to go through a cable box first to convert the broadcast signal into useable video and audio. Cable boxes will have one or more of the following video jacks: RCA (composite), S-video (DIN connector), red/green/blue RCA jacks (component) or HDMI or DVI outputs. One of these -- preferably DVI or component should be connected to the projector (either directly or via your A/V reciever). The audio signal (red/white RCA), Optical (square jack) or coax (orange RCA) would then be connected to a suitable input on your A/V receiver ... and from there to the speakers. Hope this helps.

Answer 3In addition to the above you also should have a VGA (15pin blue connector) on your pj. You can get a VGA to component adapter to go from your pj to your TV assuming your TV has a component input. see here weeder
