your setting are good, just clean the condensor coil. it's either in the back or underneath. use a brush or a vacuum. when it gets dusty the cooling suffers.

The best setting for a fridge freezer is usually in the kitchen.

The setting is irrelevant. You should aim for 4 degs, in the fridge and -20 degs in the freezer. You should be able to achieve this by adjusting the temperature control. If it is making little difference, it could be the coils require cleaning or horror of horrors the appliance is on its way out.

Check your fridge temperature, if it's right, then there's little more you can do than ensure the heat exchanger at the back of the fridge (black radiator) can circulate air freely (no fluff and dust, not closed in with no way of hot air to eascape).
