Answer 1No problem there in having a platonic friendship, but, you need a husband with an open mind.
Answer 2Yes. But if the friend is the same sex as your spouse then you might want to tone it down a bit. I mean by not going out all the time with the person. Sometimes yes and in public places is best but not all the time like one would with a same sex friend.
Answer 3definitely! why not? it always best that your spouse knows about it.
Answer 4My wife would go crazy if she saw me talking to any woman or if I receive a phone call from a person with a woman's voice. I would hate to think what she would do if I had a Platonic friendship.
Answer 5Well do you love your spouse and still want to be with them? there may be a little problem there but I'm sure if you both love each other and you still want to be with him you will be able to work it out and get past it. But as for having another male friend who is just platonic then it is quite alright, why can't you be friends with another male. My best friend is a male and I am seeing someone and they understand that, thats all it is is just friendship as they trust me. But talk to your spouse you should be able to speak to them about anything.
Answer 6It could mean trouble in ur marriage. R u sure there is not a feeling of love hidden behind this platonic friendship? That is often how a relationship starts out, then deeper feelings develop later. If u want to hold ur marriage together, then start relating to ur husband and spend less time with the friend. I suspect there is more to this friendship than u care to admit or u wouldn`t be asking ur question.
Answer 7Yes, it can, provided you are able to chat on the phone with your platonic friend with your mate listening or share emails from him with your mate and your kids. With platonic friends there is nothing to hide from your family.
Answer 8than the platonic friend should be the same gender as you!
Answer 9yes you can have a platonic friendship with whoever male or female but your husband or wife has to know about should be able to converse with your friend infront of your spouse, your spouse should be able to read your letters or mails to each other must be openness if not before you know it something deeper will come out of that friendship.
Answer 10Yes, if you can communicate better wit your friends than your spouse there is some problems in the relationship already. It is advisable for you to start talking to your spouse on this issue before it is too late.
Answer 11It's the second sentence of this question that bothers me. If you can relate better with your platonic friend than with your spouse, that may indicate a problem. That said, your platonic friend probably isn't around when one of the kids has a problem in school, an unexpected financial snafu pops up, or someone gets sick. They only get to see the best side of you most of the time. So in a way, it's an apples-and-oranges comparison. I'm married and have a platonic male friend who is also married. But if I ever thought the platonic friend was a threat to my marriage (or I was to his) I'd end the friendship in a heartbeat. My marriage is more important, and it's my husband who's been there through everything, not my friend.
