It is time for you to start acting like an adult. There is no easy way to tell your parents that they missed out on on of the biggest days of your life. They will be hurt and very disappointed. If you did not get married yet, the best thing that you can do is act like an adult. If you want a small ceremony, it is your choice. If you want to marry an 18 year old, it is your choice. If you can't make these decisions in the light, perhaps you are not ready to be someones wife. If you want to have a small ceremony, have one and invite your parents- they may or may not approve or even participate but at least you handled it like an adult. They will be upset, hurt, and disappointed but in the end, you have the final say. In your adult life, you are never going to be able to please everyone - even your own parents.

Answer 12There is not a best way, just do it. Yeah, the first time I was married my mom planned the whole thing. I was about to back out and she said you can't now, I have it all planned. If my oldest daughter got married and didn't tell me, I would be hurt because I want to be there when she gets married, even if it is at the court house. My youngest one got married last year and I helped her plan the wedding the way she wanted it. I would have done it differently.
