Answer 2Ok, I'm going to assume that you know how to write journalistically and are just looking for a way to put this in use. If you don't, LEARN. Many people believe they can write and know what makes a story, and then an editor ends up with yet another foldr on his desk that contains yet another collection of "hey, my friend wrote this CD and it's really cool", "why 9/11 was a big conspiracy" and "I went there, and then I looked, and then I saw that guy, so I went over, and then I asked him..." You get the picture. If you don't have anybody you are writing for, pick a few papers or sites you'd enjoy writing for. Pick some big and some small ones, so in case the big ones turn you down initially you still have somewhere else to go. Study the papers or sites well so you know what kind of stories they publish, both as fas as style goes and for content. Then, find two or three subjects and write trial articles about them. Send these to whoever you want to work for (if it's somewhere near you, try to get a personal appointment to talk with an editor), along with suggestion for a few more stories you would like to cover for them (here's where knowing their style and preferred content comes in). Once you've hopefully got them to give you a try, collect articles that went well. Then, when you start working your way up to bigger, better publications, you can show them your folder of what great pieces you've written so far. Good luck!

If you have any hobbies consider writing about them. There are many hobby magazines out there and you probably already read a few of them. Secondly, get a camera and learn how to use it.
