Mental Health : What Is The Best Way To Hide Self Harming
Meaning basically, if you have self inflicted cuts on your arm, what is the best way to hide it from others? Long sleeved tops and jumpers? Any ideas? I am getting help for this. I have been getting help for a while. I do not wish to receieve answers saying that I should seek help or stop doing it as that is not what I am asking. Also, no religious answers either. Cute sweat bands for your wrists, they're really thick. I have a friend with some serious slash marks from her teenage years and early twenties, she doesn't do it any more and gets embarrased when strangers ask questions so I think I know where you're coming from. It's ont everybody's business to know how you're suffering. She also wears big giant cuff bangles that look great - have a look on ebay for cheap ones. In hot weather those stocking type tops look cool. Good luck with your condition, no doubt if you manage it properly and talk to your loved ones openly about it it will get better over time.

Answer 6I had a problem with it when I was younger... pre -teen. I had some really bad scars a result on the soft tissue that heals poorly anyway where scars show up bright white. I used something by a line called Skinceuticals. It is a serum that replaces moisture and heals damaged tissue over time making them lighter and less visible. Laser treatments can help too. Im not going to tell you to get help... But may I say that I am glad you are? It is no way to live...
Answer 7Long sleeve shirts or those light coverall shirts that are like gauze. Also, excuses like: I worked with birds, I was in a car accident, should get people to shut up.
Answer 8Well, as a self-injurer myself I think the best way to hide it would be to STOP, but I know how hard that can be and it's not done overnight. I've gotten paranoid about people seeing it recently, and have tried not to do it as much just because of that. But I generally wear long or half-sleeve tops with armwarmers under them. That way, you not only have the long-sleeves, but you also have something close-fitting to your hands and wrist area that's not going to move from your skin. If they've healed, use makeup that is your skin-tone or just a bit lighter with white eyeliner. That can make a huge difference for scars and new marks. Bracelets and wristbands/armbands could be used for small areas as well. Like if you have one really bad cut somewhere, you could just put an armband over it for a few weeks. I've also known people who said they covered their cuts up with bandaids or even casts, but I've never done that so I can't give you a report there. That's all I can really think of right now. My #1 is armwarmers, but I also think they're adorable and would probably wear them anyway. I wish you luck with this. I know we're all going through pretty much the same struggle, and sometimes you just have to have back-up plans for when you do end up cutting.
