Answer 4By force it would take Nukes to get rid of the population of the US.
Answer 5Big. Other countries would much prefer to nuke the into oblivion. Take Russia for example. It's stupid to invade the . It's simply easier to destroy it. In fact, Russia could destroy the several times over with all of their missiles. Of course the same goes for the United States, they can nuke any country of their choosing, wether in retaliation or on the offensive. Assuming no missiles are used, an invasion force would first have to make a naval landing, which is really annoying to do. This would mean they'd have to come up from Canada or Mexico, giving the more then enough warning. (as if a huge fleet didn't already....) They'd be crushed. And even if they did make actually conquer the , the population would take up arms, riot, and things. In short: It's crazy to try and occupy the , because no matter how much force you use, even if you win, the population will work against you for decades or centuries to come, until you go away.
Answer 6See, your getting the wrong idea right now. War has become solely based on surveillance and nuclear power. That's why there is so much commotion over nuclear warheads and things such as that. It is not cost-efficient to try to take over a country as vast as the . with an army. It is simply more efficient to nuke us to a million pieces.
Answer 7Boggles the mind just thinking about it . Even if all the major cities were nuked and the populations were completely gone , you still would need millions of troops. We would have so many snipers I would Imagine that ground held wouldnt be held for long.
Answer 8The question would not be how many... It would be "How stupid would an invasion force be to invade America"... Is it unwinnable by boots on ground... Ballistic Rockets...Air To Surface missiles and Hydrogen and Neautron bombs would be the only way to beat the US... That is a scary thought...
Answer 9already been done my friend or do you not know to what extent the illegal immigrant situation has spread, pick any 12 people off your streets and see how many of them are true Americans
Answer 10It's not a question of size, but technology. Given the US Military's bloated budget, it's just not likely for the average weapon system to go toe-to-toe with an American equivalent and win. The whole "armed populace" theory is an absolute crock - I'd love to see the average American gun owner with his hunting rifle or short-range pistol go up against a decently equipped, trained modern infantryman. Let alone a tank.
Answer 11The old formula that the Army used to teach at their War College was one soldier for 14-16 adult males. Some feel this is a little high and also the amount of cooperation or resistance by the civilian population is a factor in all this and given the current population of 300 million you can forget about it happening. This is one of the reasons why it is important for us to win the people over as well as keep outside radical influence from coming in to the country of Iraq.
Answer 12It's not a matter of size, watch "Red Dawn"
