Best Answer To Music Music Players Question

I think a lot of people may be misunderstanding your question. For the sake of covering my behind, I'll point out that sharing copyrighted music is illegal and you're not supposed to do it. But since I can't see what's on your ipod, I'm going to assume you want to share uncopyrighted indie music... In order to copy music off an ipod, you need a third party application, as iTunes does not allow you to pull music off the ipod, only erase or upload music to the ipod (they do this specifically to prevent the aforementioned sharing of copyrighted music). There are A LOT of programs that will do this. A few that I've found for windows, though I haven't necessarily tried them all: iGadget ( ?n= ) YamiPod ( /main/modules/home/ ) iPod2PC ( / ) TuneJack ( ) iRepo ( ?q=irepox ) iPod-gt;Folder ( /ipodfolder/ ) If you use a mac, or just don't like these programs for whatever reason, you can always do a search for "ipod" on I'm guessing you've already figured this out, but be sure to select "no" when itunes asks if you want to sync your friend's ipod with your library. Also, keep in mind that if the music is purchased from the iTunes music store, it will only play if you authorize your computer to her itunes store account. And doing this will prevent you from playing any music you've purchased from the itunes music store with your own account, the notable exception being iTunes Plus purchases (iTunes Plus purchases still have your account information attached to the song, so I wouldn't recommend sharing them on a P2P network if you don't want to get caught sharing copyrighted music.)

Download iTunes and connect your iPod via the USB cable you were provided by Apple. Immediately once you connect the iPod, iTunes will recognize it and ask you if you want to synchronize the iPod with your current library. Press no if you do not want to overwrite the music currently on it.

Connect the ipod, On any prompts hit NO, goto editgt;preferencesgt;ipod and set it to "Manual update" Then hit Advanced tabgt;general sub tab and make sure "Copy songs to tines music folder when adding to library" is UNCHECKED and hit OK Now close iTUnes leaving the ipod connected. Go here and instal podutil trailware/demo whatever you want to call it .uk/software/pod... Hit "Copy To" and select where you want it copied. Then hit "Copy settings" and check "Add tracks to iTUnes" (And check rebuild playlists if you lost them) thats the answer i got from someone on the apple site, it should help, although when you do the copying you might have to manually check which songs to add, hope it works for you!

Answer 4

Your Ipod should be able to plug straight into one of your USB ports, and if not, you should have a USB cord. Plug it in and let windows pull up the New Hardware Found window. All you have to do is open your Ipod on windows and move the songs you want to your desktop or a file.
