I'm not Canadian, but as a kid we would sometimes eat snow. We got the idea from that song "Friends like You" by Carol Hart and sung by Marlo Thomas. You have to get just the top of the freshly fallen snow, we put milk and sugar in it, and it was really good. It doesn't last that long, doesn't keep, and when it's cold and snowy you don't usually feel like eating something cold. You should try it! (and yes, avoid the yellow stuff - lol). PS Also we would put a little vanilla in the milk first.
