Best Answer To Other Mexico Question
When you enter Mexico you'll start with a tourist visa which should be good for up to 6 months. You'll then apply for a longer term visa at your local Mexican immigration office. I agree, you should check with a Mexican Consulate in your current area to find out as much as you can ahead of time. You will need a passport and other ID may be helpful

Answer 3If you mean by he hasn't any papers : he hasn't any American papers, that should not be any impediment to return to Mexico for him. Take the long distance bus to Laredo or Tijuana and cross over to Mexico. (American migra does not check departing passengers). You should of course carry your American passport and an FM1 which you have obtained at a Mexican consulate. If your husband has no Mexican papers it gets more complicated. You should look for advice at a Mexican consulate, and once back in Mexico he should regularize his situation at the Registro Federal de Población, at Salto del Agua in Mexico City where he should get an ORIGINAL of his acto de nacimiento and based on this later on his CURP and his electors card. After 6 months you yourself must regularize your situation at the Secretaria de Gobernación, Registro Federal de Inmigrantes of your state capital, and change your FM1 for a FM2 or FM3 according to which activity you will want to practice. If you are legally married to him, the conditions for staying with him in Mexico are not that difficult. Don't spend money on immigrant chasing lawyers who will promise to put everything in order. You can do it yourself at no cost. Good luck.
Answer 4Just enter Mexico as a tourist. They´ll give you a tourist card at the airport which expires after a month. When it´s close to expiring you´ll have to go to the Instituto Nacional de Migración (INM) and renew it. The renewal will be good for 5 more months, six in total. Then when your tourist card is about to expire, you will have to return to Migración and apply for a non-immigrant visa (FM-3, documento migratorio del no-inmigrante) as your husband´s economic dependent. You will have to submit your marriage certificate, proof of address in Mexico, and fill out a few more forms they give you at Migración. You will also have to have pictures taken of you and pay a fee of almost 2,000 pesos. This visa will be good for a year. It will NOT give you permission to work in Mexico. If you want to work you will have to find a Mexican company willing to hire you and you will have to prove to Migración that they need you for the job, and not a Mexican citizen. You will have to get your college or high school diploma (whichever your highest level of education is) translated by an official translator and they will have to be officially stamped by a college/high school official stating that the document is valid. You have to submit more paperwork from the company that´s hiring you, another 2,000 peso fee and the process usually takes about a month for approval. If your work permit is approved, it will be valid for one year. You may renew your status as an economic dependent or worker for up to 4 years, then you will be given the option of becoming a permanent Mexican resident. *It is very important that you show up to Migración BEFORE your tourist card expires, or else they will charge you late fees.
Answer 5i did this as an american with NO friends, NO family, and NO connections. and it was still very easy to follow the laws. so...if you have a mexican husband. and am SURE things will be fine. just follow the advice people are giving you and don't worry about it.
