Are you an American citizen? If so, you will find it extremely diifcult to get a work visa in Mexico. You must have a job offer from an employer who will write a letter stating that the job cannot be filled by a Mexican National. If you come as a tourist, you can stay 6 months, then if you find an employer, it can take a few months, and several hundred dollars to get your work permit. Even professionals with college degrees get paid very little in the states make way more than doctors here. Teachers make less than $ a month. Registered nurses make less than 1/3 the amount in a week that I used to make in the states in a day. Unless you are a highly skilled, highly educated professional in a high tech field, your chances of making a "good" salary are slim to none. You could come as a tourist, and check it out for yourself...but I have seen college educated professionals here have a VERY difficult time getting a ob that pays just enough to live modestly on. And if you are thinking of working without a work permit...you may find some type of extremely low-paying work, but you cannot work for any reputable business...they cannot hire you...they would get in major trouble if they did..they are extremely careful about that here. Most Americans here are retired with pensions, or are wealthy people who do not need to work, and can meet the minimum income requirements of the Mexican government for them to live here. There are REASONS why so many people from Mexico LEAVE Mexico looking for a better life.

Answer 2

mmm well actually the "blue collar workers" will not earn big money, maybe you can get a job as a "white collar worker", but it'll be hard many of those jobs are given to people due to a relation between the boss and the worker or just pass from generations, the best way to make big money in Mexico it's being an entrepreneur trust me, if you aim to the right market you can make good money, you don't even have to invest a whole bunch of money

If you had a BA, things would be much easier for you. To get a good, well-paid job you need to have a college degree, at least. In the past, it was easy to get a position teaching English -and the pay is not that bad if you find the right working place- but, now, you must have at least a Bachelor's in order to qualify plus an internationally valid Teacher Training Diploma or Certificate (CELTA, for instance). Like somebody suggested, you can try working at resort areas. But, since, you don't have a permit or working visa, you'll be paid under the table and that means you can be paid as little money as possible. Yes, Mexico has severe poverty issues and yes, minimum wage is insulting. But there are some very good jobs that include a good salary, excellent fringe benefits, health care... Of couse, they are highly sought after and the competition is fierce. The better you are prepared, the more chances you'll have. Maybe you should enroll in an English teaching program (there are several in the US and Canada that accept trainees with only a high school diploma) and, in these programs, most of the time you are also given tips and information on where to work and how to apply. Some of them even put you in contact with international recruiting agencies.

if you want to move to mexico find an area where land is very cheap so you can buy a couple hundred acres and grow your own food. My dad bought 4,000 acres for 700,000 dollars in mexico. And he grows different types of fruits and vegetables and he sells them and you can rack up on alot of cash doing things like that. The only super rich mexicans are the CEO's of large companies like LA LA and telefone companies. Or you could be a drug dealer and be richer than bill gates and carlos slim combined. :]

If there were any good paying jobs in Mexico, we wouldn't be considering building a wall across the border.
