When the pain finally quits, it means that it healed. But it does not mean that it has regained condition. Just like building up a newly used muscle, you have to start slowly before putting any major strains on it again, or it will just tear again and take even longer to heal. So once the pain is gone, start skating again. I would suggest giving yourself a week of skating before playing again.
