Best Answer To Phoenix Question
Probably the same way I relocated from CA to Utah last year. I went in for an interview and they made me an offer. The next day, we looked at houses and bought one. Within a month, we had packed up all our junk, my husband quit his horrible job, we rented the house out to two wonderful girls, and met the movers at our new house in Utah. So my advise is to see if you can obtain employment first or you can move there and sign on with a temp agency until you find permanant work. I think I read Phoenix AZ is growing like crazy, that would be a good place to find a job in your field. Good Luck to you! Hope it all works out!

Answer 3County work takes time but is a reliable check (although the summers are brutal) but they're building up the roads constantly and construction work is booming in Scottsdale. Find out who the contractors in the Phoenix area are.
Answer 4If you have a job now, ask to transfer. Or call the union, they might not have a lot of work right away but at least it is a start.
Answer 5Get a uhaul for your stuff and when u get to AZ go around looking for a job your skilled at.
Answer 6I've relocated to the Phoenix area three times.. Each time, we were two states away on the west coast. It took three days of driving a uHaul truck and pulling a car to finally arrive the last time, one morning near noon. It was already 85f and about 11:00 AM. This was in Feb. That temp is even too high for that time of year there. We had located an apt to rent online so we'd have a place when we got there. And we were glad we had. So that we could shower and refresh ourselves from the heat we weren't used to. On came the a/c and the unpacking started LOLgt; Phoenix seems to be a youth oriented city. There is an electricity that keeps things exciting, we felt. Summers are long and are killers. And if you have allergies, you will down there as well. Just to different things. I had hoped our family would be done with those, since our first summer there we didn't have any trouble. But the next year our immunity had worn off and we were subjected to sneezing and stuffy noses that had us getting Kenalog shots in order to be able to function. I liked how Phoenix is a test market for new things coming out.. I saw this in discount clothing stores and Mervyns dept stores. There also were some food brands I hadn't seen where we used to live. And movie rentals were available after just leaving theatres. It's not hard to relocate anywhere. But you have to do a minumum of planning. Mainly so that you will have enough money set aside for living on until you find a new job. Most of the rentals are in apt. or town house designs. House rentals are not as prevelent. So you will find an abundance of apts with pools and moderate to high pricing. You might go to your main library and look thru the newspapers and read the want ads in the Phoenix newspapers, like the Arizona Republic. That will give you an idea of what rents run. When we lived there, things were cheaper on the west and south sides of Phoenix, including the towns on that side. The more desirable areas are east of Phoenix, especially Tempe, where we did live for a year. Also north to Carefree or Cave Creek are a little cooler than down in the valley. Good luck making the move I know you're going to love it!
