Answer 1Well do it then!! Then ask some children to read it and see what they think.
Answer 2Go for it. I have a couple of ideas I've been working on myself. But if you are planning on submitting it for publishing, do not do your own illustrations. Doing research on the subject, I've come across some good advice, much include warning against submitting your own drawings. Publishers like to match up the authors and illustrators themselves. Here is a link to a board that gives excellent advice and links to publishers accepting book manuscripts. Good luck.
Answer 3Just write it. Words will become a sentences. Sentences will become paragraphs, paragraphs will become a story. A story can be published as a book.
Answer 4First imagine that you are still a child and dig out the natural creativity you had as a child. See what interests you, what stories, how to phrase them, what senses are involved, what metaphors to use, what humor is applicable, what lesson is to be learned. You must imagine the book, cover to cover in your mind before putting it down on paper. Once on paper, review each character and every scene for enhancements. See what critical observation the narrative is missing, from one sentence to another. What illustrations flow with the text, so that the whole is far greater than the sum of the two. There is no good writing, only rewriting. If a book seems difficult, start with a short story for children, and later your stories will grow into books.
