When you open up msn messenger it has 3 boxes and one of them says ''automaticly load messenger'' or something like that. Just untick the box :)

log into your messenger and goto tools and in general you have an option that comes as a check box saying " start messenger when windows starts". uncheck the box and ur done.

Disable that Messenger startup. How to disable? That depends on which messenger you are using, but I can tell you how to disable Windows Live Mesenger startup. 1) Go to Windows Live Messenger Window (Go and click Windows Live Messenger Icon in the start button, taskbar or desktop) 2) Click on Tools which is located at the top, click on Options... 3) A new window, which is the "Option" Window, will pops up, Click on General which is located at the left. 4) Uncheck "Automatically run Windows Live Messenger when I log on to Windows" 5) Click the "Ok" button below. If you want to disable this startup by running System Configuration Utility, 1) Go to start, click "Run..." 2) Type in msconfig in the column next to "Open:" 3) The System Configuration Utility Windows will pops up, click on startup tab. 4) Search for that startup, uncheck it 5) Click the "Ok" button 6) A window will pops up to ask you to restart the computer. Click "Restart" 7) After the computer restarted, go to your account, and you will see a Window pops up saying that some changes has been made to the system, check the box which says that do not remind you this message again.
