I am only 10 weeks pregnant and I often end up sleeping on my back and right side. Does it really matter now? ~~~ toosexxy ~~~
Best Answer To Pregnancy Question
Your sleep position is actually a non-problem unless you are sleeping on a hard surface or if there is reason to believe there is a problem with the baby (particularly placenta not working right). Some doctors will recommend the special sleep position if you have multiples as well, but it's not really an issue for some time.

Answer 1i slept on my stomach under the day I delivered. My daughter was born at full term and as healthy as can be. The important thing is that you get sleep. After the baby is born, the sleeping is over!
Answer 2I am 14 weeks and I sleep on my back mostly right now because its the only way I can get comfortable. But I know that later in the pregnancy you aren't supposed to sleep on your back. I don't think its a problem in the first trimester. Good luck
Answer 3I am also 10 weeks, and i find it comfortable to sleep on my back or side, but as long as you are comfortable when you are sleeping, that's all that matter. Sleeping on your stomach would be uncomfortable, so, whatever you can fall asleep doing, do it.
Answer 4It doesn't matter now because baby isn't large or heavy enough to cut off your circulation! Enjoy it while you can!
Answer 5your sleeping positon isn't really important till your belly gets big....thne we suggest that you sleep on your left side. only beacuse there is a verry important vain on your right side and sleeping on it may be dangerous to your baby but you dont have to worry about that yet.

Answer 7Nope. You don't need to worry about it for several months. Sleep however is comfortable for you. As you near the end of your pregnancy, you will find that sleeping on your side becomes most comfortable.
Answer 8Sleep position doesn't matter until your into your second trimester. The uterous is not big enough to cause circulation problems for you or the baby. Sleep how you feel most comfortable and get all the rest you can, your baby and your body both need it.
Answer 9No, it doesn't. Even if you sleep on your right side later that's okay too. Just as long as you don't lay flat on your back after a certain point (my doc said after 20 weeks) then either side is fine. Just don't sleep on your tummy. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy. I hope all goes well for you.
Answer 10no
Answer 11Not really, but you should try to get in the habit of sleeping on your left side. The big deal is that you have this big vein called the vena cava that runs through your body and when your uterus gets bigger and you lie on your back you put pressure on that vein and it can restrict your blood flow. What you want to do is lie on your left side with a pillow between your knees for optimum blood flow. But for now, I wouldn't worry about it. Sleep however you're comfortable. And later on when you are sleeping on your side and you wake up on your back, don't freak out. Just roll over and you'll be fine. Congrats on your pregnancy and good luck!
