Best Answer To Preschool Question

It's definitely good. Research has shown that children who know 2 languages know the same amount of words as children that speak one language, but they know different words in different languages. So don't worry about confusing the child. The earlier they start hearing another language, the easier it will be for them to learn it later also because connections for the sounds of that language will form in the brain.

Answer 1

The earlier the better! Young children can process more than one language at a time. When they're young, they are building brain connections.

Answer 2

My psychology text in university said that teaching children more than one language often results in children with greater problem solving skills. Thats a good thing. I think its good, it stimulates the brain.

Answer 3

Hmm. It has been tried and proven by many parents throughout the region, however not many were successful in training thier child in the infant stage, however, as soon as they hit the toddler stage and learn to walk, and speak, they are able to learn quickly and grasp languages very quick. If you teach them several languages at once, be careful, they might mix them up, and if might confuse them. But I think that the limit to teaching a child a language is minimum two, maximum is 3-4. But remember, the more languages they learn at an early age, the higher tendency they have of forgetting it, by not maintaining it. Mostly because they will be accustomed to only the languages they hear that is spoken by thier surroundings. I hope that helped.

Answer 4

If you are going to teach them 2 languages or however many best to start out in infancy. Their minds are like sponges at a young age.

Answer 6

I don't see how it would be possible for infants to learn a language- they can't even talk! However, the younger a child is, the easier it is to learn a foreign language.

Answer 7

I've read that it is better to introduce languages to babies it stimulates their brains and for some reason it makes it easier for them to learn the language later. Plus with the diversity of the world today it would be good for them to know another language other than their own.

Answer 8

Teaching young children languages really helps their cognitive brain development. While infants may not be able to speak, they definitely understand and absorb what is said and how it is said. There are several theories about the best way to teach children languages. I have had friends who are Spanish/English speaking families have one parent only speak in English and the other only speak in Spanish so the child learns the differences. Inevitably young children, when they start to speak, are going to combine languages and mix them up. Do not worry, there brains are sorting it all out and realizing that there are patterns and words that go together. Ultimately my friend's children were like little bilingual dictionaries. By the time they were 5 they spoke English with their mom's Wisconsin accent and Spanish with their dad's Nicaraguan accent. When I was working on a Spanish/English project and looking up words they would easily tell me what they were without really thinking about it. If you wait until children are older it will be harder for them to learn. I didn't learn Spanish until I was 13 and now I have to turn it on or off - I will never be perfectly fluent. But these children switch so easily it's amazing. I encourage you to work with your child, surround them with books, music, and words in both languages. It will help their brain and support their development.

Answer 9

More and more people begin to learn Chinese, because here is clear career potential for the future. Childhood , I think, is the best period to start to learn Chinese or other language, so begin learning Chinese as early as you can. I suggest you take courses in language training school, because it can help you learn easier and faster. Check this site
