Preschool : What Do You Think Is The Difference Between Prep Class Transition To School Class School Readiness Class
Whats in a name? My business partner and I can't agree on a name for the classes we run for preschoolers. They go for 1 hour in local primary schools in our office. They cover all the things that children need to know for school help them develop confidence, social skills, fine motor skills as well as accelerated learning in maths and literacy. ~~~ girl from oz ~~~

I am not sure which state you are in, but I would describe it as a school readiness class. In my experiences in schools, preschools and child care centres in Sydney and Adelaide transition to school classes are where the children specifically spend time going to the school and into the classrooms with the teachers that they could possibly be having once they do start school the following year/term. In Adelaide prep classes are considered to be a child's first year of formal schooling (also called Reception) and in Sydney this would be the equivalent to Kindergarten. I like the sound of the concept of your business and the fact that you address the two areas which seem to be issues for students as their education increases.... maths and literacy. But you are still catering to the essential learning needs of the preschoolers through their self-esteem, social skills and fine motor. Too many forget that a child can be as "clever" as anything but if they don't have the social skills and confidence this can ultimately affect their academic capabilities. Good Luck!
