Best Answer To Subaru Question
Pros: More HP is possible out of a smaller displacement engine. Lots of potential and VERY easy to get more performance later on IE: good gains from simple bolt-ons that won't cost an arm and a leg. Cons: Unless you're very diciplined in keeping off boost there is quite a decline in gas mileage. Higher grade fuel is also needed, and depending on what (if any) mods you do could increase the grade required. More care is also required with turboed cars (not a lot, but still) IE: letting your oil properly warm and cool, so as to not starve or bake the turbo. Has more things that could possibly fail/break if improperly installed or tuned. As for choice on the Forester if it's within your budget the would be the better choice. The has good torque and pull on the low end, and the turbo helps a lot on the mid to high range (great for highway passing). Subaru's are known to be reliable vehicles, and so long as you check your oil regularily you won't run into any problems.

Answer 1More power out of a smaller engine and easily moddable for more power. There could be reliability issues(Subarus are generally reliable though).
Answer 2faster and thirstier
Answer 3If you keep the car long enough, and the turbo goes out, you lose a LOT of power. Most turbo cars are designed with the power in mind coming from the turbo, NOT as additional power to an already adequate engine! So if you lose it, you will have a mostly undriveable car due to severe lack of power, and will be forced to get it fixed quickly ( and EXPENSIVELY). Answer 4Subaru turbos are highly reliable. As long as you follow the guidelines for operating a turbocharged vehicle (cool down after highway driving, and regular oil changes), you should never have a problem. I have two turbocharged cars. One has 170,000 miles, the other 35,000 miles. No problems at all with the turbo.

Answer 6Turbochargers add lots of power to the engine while keeping the same gas mileage. And Turbocharged cars are also cleaner and emit less harmful gasses. So turbocharged cars accelerate much faster than non-turbo cars. The Cons are that they only last around 60,000 miles and they are expensive to replace. But it is not required to replace them. You can drive without them, but your car will be slower.
