I drove there some years ago. You take your car across the ferry at Dover and then drive through France and Spain and cross the ferry at Algeciras. It took 8 days.

Answer 2You can overland, but it would be a vey long and tiring journey, September, around that region is still very hot and humid, there are ferries from Italy to Malta, then onto Tunisia, but as I say it's a long trip.

Answer 6I am sure you can get to most places across land/sea....am guessing it would be quite a journey though and a long one for your Dad. Hope you manage to get it sorted Best wishes
Answer 7It can be done, but needs planning and about a week unless you can find a cruise or boat directly there from the UK - ask in any Thomas Cook or Going Places ... If you want to do it independently, then get to southern Spain by train, bus, coach, then take the ferry... good luck Philip
Answer 8I would suggest that you travel to Dover, then via ferry to Calais. Then travel through France to Marseilles where you can get another ferry to Tunis. Driving time in France would be about 10 hours - you might want to break your journey around Dijon and have an overnight stay (to save tiring your dad too much). You still have to add on the time it would take to get to Dover from your home and the ferry times (2 and a half hours across the channel and 22 hours across the Mediterranean) so although the trip from Dover would be 32 hours, I would estimate 3 days for the journey. Good luck for the journey and your wedding.
