Volleyball : Do You Need To Wear Your Spandex Shorts To Volleyball Tryouts
I'm not into the whole "just pick your wedgie" thing and I wanted to be comfortable, so I was wondering if going in regular gym shorts to try outs was ok too. ~~~ jet.jet.18 ~~~
Best Answer To Volleyball Question
It's totally up to you, no one is forcing you, but once you make the team, they might expect you to. A few reasons to consider though: 1. The look: you will look experienced, and like you've played for a while and know what you are doing. 2. You can move better in them (stretch) But really, if it makes you feel comfortable, ease into the idea of maybe having to wear them, but go in your gym shorts. If everyone is wearing spandex, show up the next day in spandex. Personally, I completely thought the same thing, at first, but now love it! It just takes time and getting used to.

Answer 1yea u can wear what ever u wnt but ithink spandex are more comfortable once you get used to em because shorts restrict ur body from like sprawling and getting to the ball easier but what evers more comfortable to u
Answer 2when i went to try outs a few weeks ago i was one of the 2 people that did`nt have the spandex. everybody had them besides me and this other girl. but finally i got them but i STILL made the team!
Answer 3i used to be like that. you can basically wear whatever you want. i personally think that spnadex is better because its like, tight and right on ur skin, so you dont have to worry about it loose or ur shorts falling off when ur diving or anything. lol. but wearing regular gym shorts is fine too.

Answer 5wear whatever you like. here's my tip: wear your most comfortable underwear! you'll never get a wedgie no matter what you wear! I wore regular shorts and this really uncomfy undies and I was picking my wedgies the whole time. Besides... it's not that embarassing picking your wedgies!! EVERYONE does it in volleyball! hahaha
Answer 6Wearing the shorts will make you seem like you've played before, or you're serious about my school, they like it when you do, so that way they can tell what you will look like in the if you don't have spandex shorts, don't worry about it right won't hold anything against you, but you'll have to get them , wearing knee pads and school colors usually gets you noticed.
Answer 7I would definitely wear spandex to tryouts! Everybody picks their wedgie, or has one, so you won't be the only one....lol. Or you can wear adidas or asics spandex because those brands don't have a seam down your butt. But you should wear spandex because all experienced volleyball players wear it, so it'll look like you've played before. Wear kneepads and knee socks and a comfortable t-shirt too. At my school, you HAVE to wear spandex - if you don't, the whole team has to run, do sit-ups, etc. Good luck at tryouts! ;)
Answer 8no you dont need them for tryouts. You might want 2 get them once the season starts though.
Answer 9I'd say yes because like our coach always says practice like you play. You play in spandex so you should practice in them too!
Answer 10i guess it depends on the coach but i would assume that you can wear what's comfortable to you. my coach did'nt care, alot of the girls tying out didn't wear spandex. i didn't. or you could wear spandex under a pair of shorts too if you don't know for sure. hope that helps!
Answer 11No, not for tryouts. If, I mean WHEN you make the team your coach will probably tell you if you have to wear them to practices and stuff like that. Good Luck with your season!
