Yahoo Answers : How Do I Get My Percentage Of Best Answers Increased Legitimatly
Points don't mean much to me,but I strive to get my percentage of Right Answers increased. I try to give good and thoughtful answers most of the time. Are there any tips in how people might respond to your answer? Should you avoid answering questions from someone who has a track record not resolving questions? What are the best categories? When answers go In Voting, is it a hopeless cause to expect a best answer? Looking for some good tips to help me out. Thanks in Advance(and yes, I will resolve this question like I always do) One more thing--How do some people have such a high percentage of right answers(like 50% or better) and a ton of points to go with it? That just sounds fishy to me. . ~~~ cap3382 ~~~
Best Answer To Yahoo Answers Question
I have a high percentage of best answers and I do not cheat. Its not always fishy! I answer mainly in health, and answering around 150 - 200 questions a day and I am "known" in that section. I almost always try to give good answers and to give links to sites where more info can be found (I also give throw away answers too when I'm bored!). I know I have what can be called a "fan base" of people who know my style of answering and who vote for me. This is common of most of the top players. I know that people who support me also give me thumbs up, thus increasing my points total. I lose a lot of answers because they don't get any votes, but that the way it goes. So answer to your best capacity, get known in the section you favour, and answer to you limit (or as many as you can after level 5). Please do not tar all with the same brush. we all know there are cheaters out there with multiple accounts, but I believe Yahoo are starting to tighten up on them....so things at the top may be changing drastically soon.

Answer 1Basically the only way to get best answer is to vote for yourself. Yeah it's cheating, but the highest people always do it. They suck.
Answer 2Personally, I try to only answer questions I'm knowledgeable about and avoid making sarcastic comments to questions that are goofy or in bad taste. I usually read and respond to questions from people I would like to help or inform, not hurt or cut down. And I try to remember to use spell-check - a pet peeve of mine...
Answer 3I only answer questions with a subject and in a category that i feel i know well, therefore the best categories are personal to you. I try and make sure my grammar and spelling is correct and am never nasty. Loads of people on here have a couple of accounts and vote for there own questions to get points. Pointless really if you ask me!

Answer 5The "ton of points" comes from getting so many Best Answers, often. And dedication. Some of us have been on here for many, many months, which newcomers don't seem to realize. Also, it is NOT "cheating" to vote for yourself as Best Answer, if you do it fairly -- the option is available, given by Yahoo! Answers, and since they are so stringently against cheating, one would assume they would make this super easy fix if they thought it was cheating! I will vote for other answers if they are better than my own, but will vote mine if I truly feel it is best. But the most important thing is to hone your answering skills to the point where they are direct, factual, include links if needed for background or more information and don't answer in areas where you will be overwhelmed by other answerers or don't know what you are talking about.
