If you claim you are homeless and it is through no fault of your own and you or a member of your household are in a priority group (. pregnant, dependent children, elderly, disabled, etc) then you need to contact your local Council and they have a duty to find you accommodation. Of course they may decide that you are not homeless or have made yourself homeless intentionally in which case they are unlikely to help.

They are also a charity so they can sign post you wherever you need to go. You can also speak to the local housing associations, they have to do eveything in there power to re-house homeless people, even if it is only temporary until you can find somewhere permanent. You may be placed in a hostel which means you get your own room, but all other facilites are shared, this is usually for 6 months until they can find a flat or small house. Best of luck to you!
